The Institute For Architectural Studies and Conservation invites the public to Beaconsfield’s Carriage House for their annual Winter Lecture Series beginning Monday, January 9th. This year, the speakers will shine a “Spotlight on Streetscapes”, exploring the streetscapes of a variety of Island communities through images and research. The final speaker, Josh Silver, will introduce the audience to the Heritage Retrofit Carpentry Programme offered by Holland College that is training carpenters to restore heritage buildings- a vital part of Island streetscapes- while achieving energy efficiency. Admission is by donation and refreshments will be served. The lectures are at 7pm, beginning on Monday January 9th and continuing each Monday throughout the month. Storm dates will be announced via local media. All are welcome. For more information, please call (902)368-6603.
