The Institute for Architectural Studies and Conservation has announced their Harris Legacy Walking Tours in downtown Charlottetown for the month of June. A small fee supports the Institute’s educational programming. The tour is a walk of about 30 minutes which extends to an hour and a half with interpretations of 12 buildings designed by famous Island architect, William Critchlow Harris (1854-1913) as well as information about his brother, Robert Harris, Canada’s foremost portrait painter of the late Victorian period.
The Tour is given weather permitting, on Tuesday evenings (June 5, 12, 19, 26) and Thursday evenings (June 7, 14, 21, 28) at 6.30 pm and on Saturday afternoons (June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30) starting at 1:30 pm. The tour is educational, entertaining and open to everyone. Reservations must be made in advance by calling the coordinator at 566- 1799 before noon on the day of the tour.
